Placement of lamps in the bathroom
Before installing lighting in the bathroom, it is important to know about the strict rules regarding lamps in wet areas.
Because there is a high level of moisture and steam, the type and location of the lighting are determined by the bathroom lighting zones. In most countries, bathroom lighting zones are divided into three zones: zone 0, zone 1 and zone 2.
Please note that the rules are indicative and vary depending on the country in which you live.

Covers the inside of the bath or shower basin and areas
where the lamp will be under water, for example, in pools.
1 zona:
Covers the area above zone 0 up to a height of 2.25 metres.
2 zona:

All lamps (IP20 or higher) can be placed anywhere outside the zones mentioned above.

Installing recessed luminaires in the ceiling will provide even light that illuminates the whole room. It is recommended to place the recessed fittings directly above the mirror to avoid casting shadows and to provide practical, even light.

Illuminate your shower area
The light in the shower area should be both functional and relaxing. If your shower has a fixed shower head, you should avoid installing luminaires directly above it. The shower head will block a large part of the light, creating shadows down in the shower area.
Installing LED recessed fittings as concealed ceiling lights will provide soft light and the feeling of natural daylight.
If the lamp is placed higher than 2.25 metres above the ground outside the three zones, you can choose between practically all ceiling and wall lamps. However, due to the high humidity, we recommend lamps with at least IP44 protection for all bathroom zones.

Since we usually start and end the day in front of the bathroom mirror, excellent lighting here is just as important as ceiling lighting. By installing a lamp above the mirror or vertically beside it, the light does not cast shadows on your face when applying make-up, shaving or brushing your teeth.
When choosing lighting for the bathroom mirror, it is important to bear in mind that within 60 cm of the tap a minimum of IP44 protection is required. Outside this 60 cm radius, any IP20 or other lamp may be placed.
